Just a few days back my thoughts abt the low cost Air Deccan was not that bad. But all that changed after few bad trips repeatedly and no improvements what so ever. I have traveled by air deccan twice and both the time the flights were not on time and was delayed. Still I thought it was a passing phase and things would improve. But instead of that it kept getting worse and then all hell broke lose last sunday when I had booked for my wife in Air deccan from mumbai to Bangalore.
First of all there was no phone call made to inform abt the delay. The flight was at 16:45 Hrs and after reaching there well in time for the check-in it was known that their flight was rescheduled for 18:45 Hrs. And then after abt an hour or so again came the hapless announcement from an hapless airline that the flight is again rescheduled by an hour or so. The worst part was that they knew that the airline would be delayed by much but just kept announcing the delay every hour or so. The reason was they did not want any ticket cancellation because of the delay. It was then that my wife decided to cancel the air deccan ticket and got an air sahara ticket instead. Finally after lot of trouble she reached bangalore 3 hours behind schedule.
So now after repeated stupidity and harassment from a hopeless airline I made a decision, Never to fly air deccan again. Many of my frnds and colleagues have also made similar decision based on their experience.
So this message goes out to those people who are thinking of saving a few bucks by booking on Air deccan, Think again and if you are prepared to wait for hours at the airport I would recommend you to go ahead. Otherwise it is wise spending a few extra money on Jet or air sahara and be punctual. The choice is yours.
Finally after all my experience I think they should have named the airline as Air Dhakkan. This makes a sensible name for a senseless airline.
