Air deccan…..as the name suggests it is really a dhakkan! Lolz..I have traveled by almost all domestic airlines that have been introduced in the last 3 to 4 years. The only airline that I always skipped trying is Air deccan, I had heard a lot about this airline, and whatever I had heard kept me off this airline.But early this year I made up my mind to travel through this airline, I wanted to decide for myself whether this airline was worth the money!
After traveling through this airline I came up with the following conclusions about it:
What I had heard: People run through the security check to stand up in the queue as there are no seat numbers given in advance, and just like any other local trains or buses, passengers actually push each other to get the best available seats.
What I saw: This was actually true!!! I was so surprised and amazed to see this. It first happened with local trains and buses and now it is happening with this Airlines. There was this gujju family, and one of the aunties had actually ran ahead and caught around 12 seats for her entire family, she had kept bags all over the seats and was screaming on top of her voice that this seat is already taken go look somewhere else. (No personal offence against gujus). I was shocked to see this.
What I had heard: Airbus service from the airport to the plane is worse than the local BEST in Mumbai!
What I saw: This again was true. Airbus had minimal seats to sit, which again were occupied by all the passengers leaving all the oldies and handicapped passengers to stand.What I had heard: Aircraft Seats are not that comfortable.
What I saw: Seats were not only comfortable but also cramped my legs. My legs could not fit in that little leg space they provided. People with height 5.5 and below can only fit in the seats without any complaints.
They announced that we were to land Mumbai in exactly 8 mins, and it took around 35 mins for them to land! Wow...were they out of their mind or were sleeping in the night that they could not even see where they were to announce about landing and giving false information to the passengers.
Hold on..this is not it.....when we arrived in Mumbai, they made us sit in the plane for almost around 20 mins, don’t know why. Apart from this wonderful experience with this airlines I forgot to mention about the foul smell in the aircraft that kept me awake all 3 hrs of the long journey from my destination which otherwise would have taken just 1 hour 30 mins only if I had taken any other airlines.This is it. This is Air Deccan, I highly recommend old passengers to not travel by this airlines. At Least the younger ones can cope up with everything.
