IT'S A SONY

Sony has long been in the Electronics segment. Whatever it touches turns Gold. This seems to be true at least in it’s foray in the Computer peripherals segment. Sony has become such a valued brand name that it has become synonymous with quality. Recently it has been churning out high quality products at a rate that is challenging and threatening the best in the industry - ASUS.

The Sony CRX-175A CD-RW is a state of the art product. I have been using it from the past two years and it is still going good. I write CD’s at the max speed supported by this model i.e 24X without a single problem. I know people complaining of buffer under-run errors even in highly reputed brands like the Yamaha. This critical issue simply does not seem to be a problem at all with a Sony CD-RW. Though it just has 2MB of buffer, Sony has ensured to produce a robust error-free buffer under-run protection mechanism. So far none of my CD’s have gone kaput. From the past 2 years it has been giving me stable, error-free performance. This is what you expect from a quality product and 2 years is enough testing time to credit this product to Sony’s brilliant R&D.

The Sony CRX-175A (24X/10X/40X) writes at a maximum speed of 24X. You can approximately finish a CD of 700MB under 4 minutes. This again depends upon the type of content being burnt, but on an average 650MB to 700MB of data can be written well under 4 minutes. This is good, very good. That’s what makes it a Sony. This CD-RW also supports a large range of CD types so you need not worry about compatibility issues. I have been able to read CD’s in my Sony, that were unreadable in Asus, Samsung and L.G. All in all this is a good product and deserves a 5-star rating. After all it’s a SONY
