Decent performer

Hmmm after my previous phone, I went in for the ericsson 3618, well mainly because of 2 reasons, one I was bored of the 3310, which is the category it falls into, and other it is nearly a 1000 rupees cheaper than the 3310, and comes up with nearly the same performance, minus a few things like voice dial etc.

but what it makes up for is in the features like giving a colour and tone signal to a particular number, so now I know which friend of mine is callin without even looking at the screen.

the messagin is pretty easy, but the T9 takes a little time to get used to. it has some cool games, the best I find is tetris, though no matter how old, yet keeps everyone occupied.

The Four colour screens are good, as an extension to what u would like, but the red is pretty dim to read in, with green and yellow being the brightest, the yellow addin a lil classy touch, blue is what its supposed to be, real cool!

hmm what else, unlike the nokia, this phone is pretty susceptible to scratches and removal of paint, for instance ive had this phone for 2 months, and it keeps goin in and out of my pocket a lot so the paint is gone around the edges, and it looks much older than it actually is. Not much of a problem as a new orignal body is around 200, but I cannot imagine doing that every 4 months or so, so my suggestion, if u have it in a protective cover keep it that ways and take it out, only if your out to a party or a function. hmmm why am I comparing it to the nokia 3310, is probably that is its closest competitor.

Okay for the good part, the network capability is superb, any day better than the nokia. clarity is also better. its got profiles like the nokia, so you dont give out much, except for voice dialing.

the menu does take a little gettin used to but once you get the hang, not much of a problem.

the talk time what I first thought was less than the nokia, coz after 2 hrs 15 mins of non stop usage( I talk a lil bit too much) it went to battery low signal, but on a particular trip I realised, I got about 47 mins of more talktime after the battery low signal had come, so that means I have 3 hrs of talk time, same as the nokia, but yes it doesnt switch off abruptly, like the nok.

overall ive been pretty happy with the phone, with none of the problems like software glitches etc. besides I find it better lookin than the nok, which I guess is cause the nok’s been in the market for too long now.

A good buy for someone who’s lookin for something different.

chao, and will tell u when I get my new phone
