Good entry level model

K500i is an entry level phone targeted at new mobile purchasers who need a good color display, well functioning cam and yes the name.

Sony has always taken the mobile phone market by storm and the K500i is just another storm in the tea cup.

Design:

The phone is light, neatly designed to be well placed in the hand. Has a 65k colors TFT screen which can be seen on a bright day.

Software:

User friendly and never hangs well doesn’t even slog on a full memory

Memory:

Shared built in 12 mb of space. This should be fine for a conservative mobile user.

Cam:

VGA cam with a 4x zoom works pretty fine and has a good clarity in comparison with phones on the same stable and the price.

Speaker:

Well Sony has really defined a speaker on the phone. It’s pretty loud and clear and yes a stereo output. Seems like a standard feature on SE phones.

Keypad:

Well laid out and smooth.

Joystick:

Pretty much the same on any SE phone. Works well and smooth. Needs cleaning at times since it’s exposed and can wear out soon if not cleaned periodically.

Sells for 8784 Mrp and can be purchased from a direct Sony distribution center for about 7854 at an employee discount.

Connectivity:

Has GPRS, Infra-red but no blue tooth.

Couple of things I like about the phone:

  1. Compact

  2. Sleek design, fits correctly in the palm

  3. Clear TFT screen

  4. Fast paced Software

  5. Sound clarity is amazing

  6. Good reception

  7. Real Fast Infra-red transfer

  8. Flexible

.. I could go on, mat be the reader can add some of their thoughts.
