Hello!
I had a Nokia 3315 and it was working fine but then I came to know about the Airtels GPRS thing..and you know how costly in India dialup Internet is...so I though that when I can have high speed data access with my mobile using the Airtel GPRS service why not should I switch to a GPRS phone.
Then I started checking the phones in market and everyone said that T230 supports GPRS there were other phones less expensive but I thought now I am going to spend money why not buy a coloured and polyphonic phone.
So in comparison was Samsung C100, Sony Ericsson T230, Motorola C350e.
Well I was getting the Motorola for just Rs. 4500 without bill but my dad and sister didnt like the phone so it was out of the list then came samsung and sony...samsung was rejected by me because of slow graphics etc. and the phone was also a little big in size.
Then only Sony Ericsson was left and I checked its manual and it said that it supports GPRS so I bought the phone for Rs. 7400.00. And bought the data cable for Rs. 450 USB. But when I tried to visit the sony site for drivers of the phone I was unable to find them.
After several tries I contacted Sony and they said that phone supports GPRS but cant be used / connected with PC. At this time I was totally disappointed.
So as I have purchased and it cant be returned ...so I am sticking to it. The good this about the phone is that it has a ignore list in which you can put the number of people you dont want to hear from. ;-)
Rest phones os and graphics are working fine. I have 2 connections and both works well. The reception is good too. Works in basement with full signal.
Talk time according to manual is 12 hours but according to me its just 3-4 hours max.
Overall if you dont want GPRS then phone is GOOD! If you want GPRS then go for something else. This phone also does not supports IrDA. Just be sure to check other companies before buying this one!
Cheers!
