I would like to share a pathetic experience with standard chartered bank , where I was cheated
by this crook bank.
In feb 2012 , I applied for a personal loan of rs 5 lakh, for a period of 4 year on a interest rate of 16%.
At the time of taking the loan , the SCB folks provided me a waiver of 1 EMI, ie I need to pay only 47 EMIs(instead of 48)
On asking them abt the prepayment of the loan , these ppl told(both on phone as well as in person), that that there shall be a approx an exit charge (ranging from abt 1.5 -2.5, which is again negotiable).
In early November 2012, I had enough funds, so I decided to pay off the entire loan , and I called the call center.i was really amazed and disappointed and felt cheated when they told that I can not replay my loan for upto 1 year, and that if I will try to replay it after 1 year also, I wont be entitled for the waive off of 1 EMI.
This was never never told to me before.
This was a real cheat and highly unprofessional behaviour on part of SCB. I would suggest everybody not to take any kind of loan from this standard chartered bank. They are real cheaters and crooks.
