I just had a call from the standard chartered bank no 011-43179400 even when my cell no is ndnc registered. The bank executive [claiming to be working for the bank for the past three years] tried to sell me a titanium card of standard chartered bank having a guarantee of lifetime for the cash back of 5% on any purchase be it anything.[alarmed me. The executive repeatedly tried to assured me that this offer is for lifetime. When i asked to give it in written he said "no bank can give in written" and it is his personal assurance since he has been selling the cards from past three years. Not convinced, when i asked if this info is available on the website, he simply denied it.
Later, when I asked if I can call customer care of the bank to check this offer, and to provide the nos. He simply said" sir we dont have time for this and "disconnected!!
1>is this offer really from the bank?
2>is this call fake trying to gather my personal info like id proof, residence proof and salary details?
If this message goes to the bank, then i request to verify if standard chartered is selling cards with the fake commitments or it the bank executive who was trying to sell by giving wrong commitments? Anyway, guys beware of these calls rather then falling into traps of credit card frauds!!!
