Review : I have had a bitter and a terrible experience with Standard Chartered Bank .I intend to take this harrasment to the utmost level I could but am at roadbolck I cannot overcome. Couple of months back I recieved a collection call from a Standard Chartered bank. I am card holder of over year or so . I pay my bills at the most a month late but pay the total due each time plus late charges and all.I pay by cheque only. The lady ( she can never be called a ’ lady ’ in the litereary sense of the word.) The collection wanted me to pay by cash as it was the last day of the month and said she would send somebody to pick up the cash from my home I said I would readily pay by cheque and of she wants to send somebody that is good or I couold just drop it in the mailbox. Now comes the harrasment part .I have risen to decent position in my industry (BPO) and had started my career as a collection rep.She asked me to pay by cash and declined agian it continued for half an hour or so I understanding she trying to her job well I told her I just wold not pay by cash as I keep track of all my bills by my chequebook. The lady got rude and I told her that as far as I was concerned the conversation was over. The rep or the financial institution is much more crude than I thought in my wildest dreams.She started to call me and disconnecting ( I could see her number on the caller ID ) .My younger sister picked up the phone to answer and she was asked to tell the ’’Bastard’’ to pay on his card !! I was too stunned to react , My sister told her to refrain from using profanity , she was retorted by being called a ’’BITCH’’ This was way too much and I called the number back. Maybe I was too cordial for them as thislady herself picked up the phone and prtended to somebody else as she recognised my voice.She told me there was nobody around who could have called , ( She could not pretend that it was not Standard Chartered Bank as she has answere the call by saying so ) I asked for her manager who again tried to convince me to pay by cash ( I understand they had tough time meeting some target or somethingfor that particular month) I told the manager or whoever she was that I was not calling to discuss that and I had already decided not to deal with this bank ever again. She was way too stubborn for a decent conversation she told me that she would take Legal action and Cancel my services (I was too glad !!) I asked for a number for somenbody with more authority.She told me I was a premium customer with a executive card !!! She gave me a wrong number with a wrong name !! I paid on my card but still this experience brings bitter taste in mouth. My lawyer friend has asked me to lodge a formal complaint and then put petition in the court too. I have been trying to get a good contact name/number for this purpose but have been unable to .I searched the web and this is where I decided to take out my frustation. Any help from any visitor/reader/member on this to get me a contact would be higly appreciated .Any Legal tip or suggestion is most welcome too. I have the records of the call made on my answering machine caller id. and also from BSNL report.
