The bank had blocked my card due to no use(due to their poor service and repeated headache, I had stopped using the card), post which I requested them not to reissue and this is more than a year back. Now in September this year, there were transactions on my card for more than 9000 INR in and near Delhi when I am sitting in my office in Maharastra with the card still in my possession.
Though my card was supposedly inactive, I still called the customer care and they I believe blocked the card immediately. Surprisingly even after that I continued to receive messages on my phone about transactions being made on my card.
After which I wrote to their head services, nodal, customer care etc expressing my disappointment and asking for action. But can you guess they repeatedly came back saying they are unable to process my request as they need merchant details. What the hell from where should I give them merchant details and the transaction receipts when I only have the messages and their credit card statement.
The bank should obviously have more information than me. How pathetic can this get. I have no words. I was still trying to get help but looks like they are just a bunch of utterly nonsense, unprofessional people.
My friends have faced similar PBS with Citi, Icici etc and they didnt do anything apart from one or 2 calls and all was resolved with no hassle.
Standard Chartered service is beyond the state called Sad.
