Its mostly False promises and customer care executives who have no clue on how their system works.and to add to the misery of the users they have started to charge the user after 2 phone calls a month.
I thought after paying a 999 rupees annual fee for this card, the card should reap out some decent benefits.but to my surprises things started to become worse month on month.
And beware of Tele callers from SCB selling some stupid card enhancement plans and stuff which is a big nuisance.they assure you if you dont like it you can return it, give us a call and we will send a guy to collect it and so on.which is a total bluff.never ever fall for this.I was a victim for this.but when I returned it I had to bear the courier expenses.their card statement is not so straight forward nor self explanatory.and if you end up calling the customer care they will confuse you even more most of the time.
they try all types of gimmicks on you .they generate a different account and a separate bill for the card enhancement plan if you take one.I had good credit score till I took this stupid card enhancement plan.After I returned their kit and requested them to stop the plan.they reverted the amount as card adjustment on my credit card bill or something but an emi for the plan was active on the Manhattan PLC account.and after 5-6 months they block my credit card for non payment of dues. then I call the customer care asking why the card is blocked, they say for some technical reason that is not mentioned in the system my card is blocked and they take a request to activate my card.this happens couple of times.and then my annual charges for the card for the next year is deducted inspite of my card being blocked.after calling and cussing the customer care representatives I came to know the reason why my card was blocked, that is when I realized why I was getting two bills on my e-mail from standard chartered.
In this process I lost about 10, 000 plus reward points.They promised to revert back Rs 499 from the annual charges that they had already deducted, that promise remained a promise which was not fulfilled.
after paying my dues for the card enhancement plan.next month I get a bill of Rs.17.92 as financial charges for settling the dues.when I call them on this they say that they will waive off this charges.
So in my experience for a customer who did a good transaction and accumulated about 14000-15000 reward points with SCB, the bank says "Kiss my a$".for all the blunder their executives and customer care representatives did.
so My piece of advice is stay away from such Non ethical Brands like Standard Chartered Bank.
