False Confirmations by Standard Chartered Bank

I want to inform you all, that, please beware, if you have your account in Standard Chartered. I have been struggling since November, 2012 to get my money back which they deducted from my account. I had an ECS facility from Standard Chartered towards my policy (Rs. 5000/- per month). After a certain time, I could not afford to pay further and I was in need of money, so I requested Standard Chartered to stop the ECS facility. They stopped it and gave me a confirmation letter. After 3 months (in November), suddenly  they debited Rs. 15000/- from my account against ECS.

There was no auto-debit of Rs. 15000/-. So, why Rs. 15000/- was deducted. They are arguing that ICICI has asked to debit Rs. 15000/-, so they debited. " But why. This is my account, not ICICI’s. Tomorrow, ICICI ask to deduct Rs. 50, 000/-, so will standard chartered do that". That means, it is very risky to have an account with Standard Chartered.

I kept on complaining, but they did not even try to listen and understand. I told them that, if they would not have confirmed me, I would not have kept the balance in the account and the problem would not have been raised. I am still asking them again and again, that WHY DID THEY CONFIRM ME THAT THE ECS HAS BEEN STOPPED.

But, they are not taking any interest in my complain.

Moreover, now after 3 months again they debited Rs. 15000/- (5000*3). This time I did not keep the balance in the account, and balance got Rs.  -15000/-. It went in minus.

I am suffering a lot due to this. So much of my time is wasted in following up these people.

Request you all to suggest me, how to go about it.

Regards

Savita
