Zero star. The insured had undergone bypass surgery in the past and this was communicated to the customer representative yet she suggestedStar- Heart health insurance. After making the payment of around 60 K for the premium, the policy was not issued. Initially while enquiring about the policy, the customer care guys kept calling continuously till the payment was made. After that no calls at all. No update as to when policy will be issued or if it is getting delayed. I kept following up but had a tough time getting response. Now they are saying that the policy issued will not cover heart ailments in future. I found it extremely strange, their customer service representative suggested the plan and now a different department of the same company is saying that the health policy issued will not provide coverage for that condition ever.(its funny- like someone applies for a accidental cover policy, insurance company takes the money and while issuing the policy the company says that they cannot cover accidents- I mean are they out of the mind. On what grounds did their reps. suggest this policy then? I mean going back on your words, too low a level for a organization to stoop to.)
Now I am asking for a refund of the premium as I do not want take this policy or any other from this company ever. Also since the policy has not been issued, they should be able to refund the amount at the earliest. Now I am getting emails about my concern being forwarded to some other department(funnily they arent mentioning the department name. What rubbish?) Can someone suggest the appropriate legal action against these guys. Its been 15 days since the payment was made and all of it was done online. If online policy issuance is taking this long, I wonder how long it would be if this wasnt online.
I would suggest dont ever take any policy from this company unless until you want to blow away your money. Beware of Star Health insurance
