I recently took home loan from sbi.It took almost 1.5 month to finish formalities.I also had to travel couple of time s to local head officce.But the entire process was fair and sbi contact person at JP nagr bangalore branch gave very good service.SBI informs well in advance about interest rate, service chatges and also about all required documents.They follows ethical practices unlike HDFC .SBI have a very fair banking practice unlike banks like HDFC
I first approcched HDFC but they dont tell all information initially.HDFC gave me worst service.Their interest rate was very high compared to SBI.HDFC took processing fee first and then started asking for many documents which they didn’t tell me before taking the processing fee.Every day they ask for some documents and didn’t do the loan disbursement for 1 month After loan sanction.After long arguments with HDFC manager Renjitha Rao at HDFC JAYANAGAR branch I got 50% of processing fee back.
Then I approched SBI for loan.It was really good experience with SBI.They were very open in the entire process.Alwyse approch SBI or public sector bank for home loan.Do not try HDFC .
