I have been associated with SBI for the last 3 years.
Till now my experience with this banking giant is satisfactory.
Saving account is ok; the fact that annual maintenance charges are low and minimum quarterly balance is 500(with cheqe book), which is way below compared to private sector banks.
Like private sector banks(not mentioning names) SBI never cheats it’s customer.
You can get banking facilities all over INDIA and of course ATM even in the innermost rural areas.
Though I often I visit branch for Funds transfer, now with SBI FREEDOM(mobile banking app.) it has become hassle free for me. You can also use NET BANKING.
Certain areas where SBI needs improvements are
1->Customer support, most of the customer support people are not aware of the product and services offered by the bank, and try to hang on the phone as long as possible.
2>E-mail support-Sure u will get reply, but after 7-8 working days.
3-Unprofessional behaviour of tellers at certain branches.
4- I visited my home branch to activate NET BANKING, and to my utter surprise I found, customer relation officer has no IDEA about NEFT and RTGS.This kind of ignorance must be sorted out.
