I remember years back when exists only nationalized bank like SBI, PNB etc. Depositing and withdrawing our own money required special planning from our day schedule. We use to be in queues and bank staff use to take their 15 mins scheudled tea break and non-stop chat with their co-workers, If we say anything they would delay our work or even wont do it with some or other reason.
Making demand draft was just matter of 10 mins, but they use to hold us from morning 10am to 4pm. Even though you are in queue but the moment office hours are over they ll close down their window and would shout on us - why didnt you come few days before? Customer satisfaction is no where in their books.
SBI with computerziation should change their staff also, their aged staff reluctantly press keyboard key with speed of 1 wpm and do not bother how long is the que, they just do their 10am-2pm job.
Unfortunately, once for a draw allotted plot I decided to take home loan from SBI, sec-41, noida, they assured all my documents are more than enough and at any circumstances I would get get this loan. After one month, just 5 days before Land registration they said they would be mortgaging Guranteers property paper till the time loan is over, and this process would further take next 15 days. I did not have much time left to other banks to process the loan. I spoke to SBI bank manager, their inspection lawyer, everyone, but no one was least concerned, I lost the plot and net profit of 8lakh ruppess(if they had told me this one week before atleast I would have sold it). They just said one wordSORRY.
I have some bitter experience with their credit card also. Their customer care requires some serious training.
Overall not a good bank to bank with, just have an account with them since they ll be never be bankrupted but do not have any day to day relationship with them.
They are spreaded all corner of the country in remote villages/town/cities from North to South everywhere, more than 11, 112+ branches, Hardworking & little planning can make SBI the richest bank of the country.
