Syracuse - Snow City

Well now I have lived in this place for more than a year now .Syracuse really is a small University town , techncially Central NY but I find this by all means Upstate New York. The Syracuse University is one of the good univeristies with a alrge Indian community.

The place gets very cold there especially at Dec-Feb time of the year , the weather gets extreme .. with rain , chilly winds and thunderstorms common.. though known for its scenic beauty as is a region of rolling hills, flat plains, lakes and streams.Hence is a treat for those Syracuse, called the city of all seasons, is rated by some to be snowest big city in the world .. which might be scary for some and exciting for others who like snow , may be a temporary feel.

Located in the center of New York on the southern shore of Lake Ontario , its centrally located between NY City and Boston for about an 4 hr drive its ideally located for a weekend trip for any of these bigger places .. Nigara falls is not very far from this place as well and is a 2 hr drive.

The place seems to have many other attractions , the summers makes this place very scenic and the green Syracuse looks very different from a winter white Syracuse. The place has all the good resturants to itslef .. from Italian to chinese .. during summers there are lot of people espically in old age move to Syracuse becuase of an inexpensive life style of the city. During winters same people would move to place like Florida for a better life.

The place can come very dull for a young crowd with not much happening. Downtown sounds dull even on a Friday evening with nothing much happening. Though Armoury Square has one of the best bars but for some reasons there is something missing,
