I have been using Tab cab service since its inception in Mumbai, mostly to the airport from Navi Mumbai and return.Overall the cab service is reliable, safe and luxurious.
My recent trip was from the New International Terminal T2 to Navi Mumbai on 13th February night. Paid 80 bucks as airport/parking charges and was issued a boarding pass No.295656 and cab assigned was MH-01-BD-6418.On reaching the Bay where cabs were parked, there were several Tabs lined up. I started my journey and realized that I was allotted a Tab Gold with a higher per KM charge.I neither asked for the Gold service nor was I informed about the allocation of gold cab.The result? I had to pay about 150-200 Rupees extra for the entire journey pretty much more than a regular tab cab would have costed me.This is simply unreasonable and another form of cheating by Tab Cab in the name of Tab Gold.The regular tab cabs are very comfortable Toyota Etios cars and why would anyone choose SX4 for this?
After lodging an online complaint, there was no feedback or rather even an acknowledgement from Tab customer service.It was only when I called up a day later, I was told that Tab Gold is priced higher and any cab available at the time is allocated to the customer.My question is WHY? Why should I opt to pay higher fare for something so similar without even wanting to? Again there were many empty Cabs lined along side on the day.
I urge everyone to be careful when dealing with Tab cab and their allocation of Gold cabs.
Apart from this, the driver this time was chewing tobacco/Pan and was spitting out of the cab all along the way which was simply disgusting.And this happens too often.The so called Saathis are most of the times seen chewing tobacco and spitting out of the cab while driving by opening the door, which is very very cheap.
On top of it there are warning signs in the cab for passengers NOT to smoke or chew tobacco.Tab Cab needs to address these issues to remain where they are.
I will seriously give a thought to switch to other players who are at least clear in their pricing part and don’t impose a GOLD like Tabs.
