Vroom Masala

A Yash raj masala flick, with the usual dose of emotions - romance, sadness etc . The story of  dreams coming true of a pit - tyre changer( at races) to become a champion driver. His lackadaisical approach to life, life teaching a lesson for  being too much carefree. And his return back to fame, a fight against the odds  to make it big once again.

That my friends is briefly introducing you the theme of the movie. Now Lets proceed with my view of the performances. I say mince, since every viewer will have their own choices.

Saif, as RV has given a decent performance, As the aspiring racer, as the champ, and as the beaten ex champ. The reason I say decent, is since there is since there is no overboard performance. He looks tired too. This Film is an entertainer, but no scene actually grips u too much. Its like a causla passing.even the hardships.

Rani as Saif’s life partner, is breezy in the first half, good performance, but not gripping either.

Somehow It was a feeling I shared with my family as we watched the film, was that while Saif and Rani Complement each other as a pair, in a role as parents, they dont click in this movie.

The Kids are cute, but while the elder kids sounds great as she is giving a narrative, as the persona is too kiddish. There are certain scenes focussed on the kids that could’ve been more poignant., but are not. The younger kid tries to get too cute. He was better in Fanaa I guess.

Javed Jaffery as the NY cabbie, then on team manager of the racing team, at moments lightens the atmosphere, is reasonably good, but most times he sort of kept appearing as some sort of VJ.

Of the whole cast Victor Bannerjee as Rani’s father had a brief moment in the film. Too brief for the likes of him.

The Music, well less said the better. None of the songs linger on - most of the songs had the same inane beat. One song does catch your attention, if only for the animated bears who feature in the same.

One more thing I was amazed at. In two scenes, RV races a NY cab across the roads of NY at demonic speeds, and Yet no Cops get after him. Now that is surely amazing.WoW - no laws against speeding eh?

Overall, the film moves on at a brisk speed. Atleast you dont realise the time passing away.

Maybe, kids would enjoy a night at the races with you. Worth a dekho once.
