Dealers experience (Delhi) (Final Update on Xeta)

My Final Update on Xeta.


I have dropped the idea of purchasing xeta and have instead purchased indica. This decision was taken on the grounds that the new xeta is a car, performance of which is yet to be proven. I dont want to gamble by purchasing a car with a new engine, specially when Company is not foucssing on the performance and instead advertising price as the main attraction. Good luck to those who want to stick. I am yet to get my advance back, but that does not seem to be much of a problem with consumer courts in place.

Has any one heard of the new xeta to be launced in about a week. I have got to know that TATA is about to launch an improved version of Xeta with 1200 CC engine. Would suggest all those planning to puchase Xeta to wait for some more time. Do let me know if any one gets to hear anything about it.

Encouraged by the review PK Singh, I have decided to write about my experience of Xeta Indica, to make others aware of what to do and what not to do while purchashing this car.


The Beginning


2 months back I had decided to buy a car with budget from 3-4 lac. Following were the options:


a) Alto: This car I rejected because of crunch of space at back seat and low engine power.


b) Wagon R: This car is very good but when compared it with Xeta, it didn’t seem to give me value for money as it is nearly 50K more expensive then a similar model of Xeta.


c) Xeta: After comparing all its feature and looks, I found it to be the best car in this range. The features I liked were:




  • Spacious




  • Engine Power




  • Looks




  • Price




  • Tata Brand Name




  • CNG Option




  • Salsa Red Color






My Journey


Once I was sure that I wanted Xeta GLG, my search for dealer (in Delhi) began. That is were I made the big mistake. After checking price of Indica with different dealers I went to a dealer who offered maximum discount. Dealer was A-One motors. The salesman told me that cars of all colors were readily available at his stock yard ( Every sales man will tell you this). We made advance payment of Rs.5000 and finalized deal. Two days after giving him all the papers I called up the sales man where he told me that the Salsa Red color is not available. In fact only white and silver indica were available. I wanted only this color and hence decided to get my money back and go to some other dealer.


My next choice was Vivek Automobiles. This time I made sure that I saw the car standing in showroom. He showed me two cars standing in his showroom with two others in his stockyard. I immediated made advance payment on 17th Sept on the grounds that I would be given delivery on 1st Oct. On 30th I called up the sales person to confirm delivery (now listen to this....)


He told me that the car could not be delivered as the showroom was closed on 1st and I should call him on 3rd to take delivery. I called up directly at reception and got to know that showroom was open. I made complain to their GM, but nothing happened. The Sales manager apologized and said that delivery will take time due to fire at Tata Factory. I decided to wait. Till date I kept calling him, (He till date never called me) and finally got tired.


Silver lining in dark cloud


Then I got number of their call centre, from where I got number of a concerned person who supplies car to their showroom. Today after speaking to him, their sales manager called us for the first time saying that he will make the car available to us with a suprise in store for us on account the problem faced by us. I have been told to wait for max 10 days.


Conclusion


I have decided to cancel the deal if nothing happends thereafter and purchase Wagon R. If TATA has this level of customer satisfaction then I dont think Xeta is worth the money being offered.


I will update my review and let you all know what happens hereafter. Just one advice, take care while selection dealer. Don’t go for the once offering big discounts. Go to those near your house with good service.
