I live at Mumbai(Ex Bombay) and was looking
for a broadband connection. Unfortunately MTNL or Airtel do not provide
ADSL broadband in my locality. My choice is limited to using wireless
internet or TATA Indicom broadband.
I Applied for TATA Indicom broadband on 26 April. Sales rep promised
me that connection will be activated by 30 April. Connection was
ultimately activated on May 12th.
Problem is Connections uptime is worse then wireless broadband.
Decided to track complaints made to customer service. And this is the
status so far.
18 complaints in 16 days(all related to connection being down)
And TATA does not even provide a toll free number.
My suggestions as a customer.
NEVER EVER choose TATA Indicom broadband if you have any option.
Things you get with them -
Headache
24/7 Tensions
Losing Money Pre Paid for the Connection
Sucking(I did mean Sucking) Pain
Too Bad Support who just forward you to many many concerned departments
Losing lot of money by calling them daily but getting no replies from them
Switched off phones - Service Line guys
1 Month minimum New Connection Waiting Time.
No Refund for the payments made ie A Dead Investment
No Extra Credit Days even though their servers are down(Fuc**d up)
No Amount in your account even if you have paid a 3 Months pre paid
A Used Second Hand Router which does not work every 5th day and a
TATA Indicom support guy comes after a minimum of 48 hours to replace
it and get some Bribe for that.
Value Added Services like Link Down, Bad Connection, Bad Routers
These Guys who install the hubs on rental basis never pay their rents and in return we End Customers lose the connections.
