Mumbai: Don’t get cheated by that ads showing 2mbps speeds.
I was very well aware about the so-called good and excellent Tata Indicom mobile network, which is actually terribly bad! That’s why I dis-recommended mobile connection of TI.
Well, I am also ill trapped by Tata Indicom Broadband!
I submitted the form in first week of February. They promised me connection within 48-day. After dozens of calls to them, they started the connection in 10-days.
And connetion reliability? Boss, don’t go for it! It’s pathetic.
I had user Reliance WIRELESS(SierraCard), facilitating me 153 Kbps(Reliance promises 144, but speeds can go upto 460 Kbps!, depending on device!). That connection was never ever lost(or say <.01%), in 18+ months of usage. I downloaded 3.5 GB of Vista RC2 in ONE go!
This disgusting so called BROADBAND, does not give even 1 hour of Continuous connectivity. you can guess the loss/danger that may occur while doing some financial transaction!
TRAI has given definition of BB as:
"256 kbps of Internet Connection that stays connection always"
Well, TIBB is just replacing my screensaver. I am connected, I am DOWNLOADING some file. I am away for sometime. The connection is disconnected! When you ask CC, they define it as "Idle timeout".
What the hell? First, I am downloading file - no matter if I am physically there and browsing the pages. Second as per TRAI definition of BB, you must remain connected! No matter what.
For sending plain mails, replying to some forum - I need to copy whatever I typed and then send! You very well know why(Yes, I would do for this text also!)
So, friends. DoNT, DOnT, DonT, DON’T, DO not, do NOT dO nOT. go for Tata Indicom!
