Why Indigo?
Cars have always been more than just automobiles to me. I feel each and every car has a distinct personality which is a complex mixture of look-n-feel, engineering, the brand name and a lot more. Indigo (and for that reason Indica) has another credential to its resume. That it is made in India. I mean, more importantly conceived and designed by an Indian auto giant. Dont point out that IDeA Institute of Italy had a role in its design. I know that. Every one does. I feel a sense of patriotic celebration when ever I see an Indigo. Even more when I see an Indica in the form of a CITY ROVER from MG Rover cruising on the streets of UK. It is, I guess the same feeling an American has for a Chevy and a Brit for the Mini (and the now dead MG Rovers various models).
Here is the link to a complete review on Indigo, many of you must have already read it. It was originally published in Overdrive magazine when Indigo first came out. The review is authored by the well known car guru Adil Jal Darukhanawala. This Indigo test team consisted of many famous automobile pundits like Aspi Bhathena, Yogendra Pratap, Sirish Chandran and Bertrand Dsouza besides of course Adil. As I said this is not a new review on how the car has faired well over the years, but about what all it has and how it was developed and designed. The review can be reached here:
