I was on my way back home from Chennai, and needed a cab in Bangalore. Their website turned up while Googling for Taxi services in Bangalore, so, I called them up. The person who received the call was polite enough, took all the details, and said that the cab’s been confirmed. He said I’d get the driver details about an hour before the journey. This was at 8PM. And I wanted a cab at around 11:30PM. I asked him for a confirmation number of sorts, but I was told I’d be sent those details soon in a message. And since he talked politely enough, I thought they were legit.
I didn’t get any confirmation SMS about the call even after an hour. I thought maybe I heard them wrong and that I’d get only the driver details and decided to wait a bit longer for it. Another hour passes, and I’m getting anxious. It’d be practically midnight by the time I reach, and I have a friend to be dropped off. I have no intention of taking an Auto at that time of the night. And without the cab, I’d be in a pretty f*cked up situation.
So, I call them up again, and tell them I booked a cab at 8 PM, and that they confirmed one for 11:30 PM. The guy who received the call wasn’t particularly polite to begin with, and he goes like: "Which number did you call for the booking?" As if they have a million numbers! I tell them that I’d called the same number, and that I’d called them from the same number I’m calling from. Now he says there’s no booking from my number. I ask him to recheck because the last guy said the booking’s been confirmed. He doesn’t even pause to check, and just says there are no bookings. I’m pretty tired, and pissed off with his tone, but I ask him if I can book a new cab. He just says there are no more cabs available and cuts the f*ckin call!
In short, these guys confirm cabs they don’t have, and leave you stranded if you decide to go with them. Not sure which idiot runs the business, but it’s definitely not legit. Just avoid them altogether. You’ll be left stranded in the middle of the night without a cab if you book with them. And come on, they’re not doing charity, you’re paying them for the service. So, there’s definitely no reason to tolerate their rude customer care. Avoid them, and let’s hope services like these die out soon enough.
