This list is surely my compilation. This means the movie I have seen and have liked is listed here. This list may contradict some readers, but I may say again that this is what I think. Oscar or not, I love these movies.
Let’s have the countdown:
10) Terminator: Judgement Day: This James Cameroon film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton is one of my favourites. I like Arnie in a positive role and that’s why the first part of this sequel has been ignored by me. This is a great action movie, and those people who have seen this flick will agree with me.
9) Jurassic Park: A Steven Spielberg film starring Sam Neil and lots of dinosaurs has been my favourite. Although I do not enjoyed the next two sequels of this film. In the first part, dinosaurs behaved liked dinosaurs; untamed and wild. But the sequels picturised them as beasts and villains. I think this is way beyond science. Therefore, I ignore the sequels and give high applause to the first part.
8) Life is beautiful: This is an Oscar winning film. The actor was the director of this film. I have watched it 3 times and every time I felt the high emotions in this film. It will really make you cry and your emotions will run lose. Here we have an English movie, which you can watch with your family.
7) Schiendler’s List: Another Steven Spielberg movie, which takes us back to the Nazi era. Here a man called Schiendler prepares a list of Jews he will be saving from the Nazis. The list includes name of a only child. This child can be seen holding the finger of Schiendler on the posters of this movie. This is a complete Black & White movie and the realism of this movie and the torture shown will really make your eyes close.
6) The Sixth Sense: Here we a movie, which made all Indians proud. Directed by Manoj’Night’ Shyamalan, starred Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment. This was a movie amount a kid who can see dead people. The climax was extremely shocking when Bruce himself discoveres that he is.you better watch this movie to know the secret. This movie got me so engrossed that I didn’t knew how those 90 minutes passed by. Real great work by Manoj.
5) Mask: Jim Carrey stars in this comic flick. The characters taken a comic book really came to life in this movie. The special effects were the real stars of this movie. This was also the first movie of the gorgeous actress, Cameron Diaz. Jim Carrey also started doing comic roles from this movie onwards. I have seen this movie more than 50 times!
4) Forrest Gump: Tom Hanks gives his life’s best performance in this movie. Truly appreciable direction and performances makes this movie the best of all time. I can watch this movie any time and anywhere. Great work, people. I do not think such a movie can be made again.
3) American Beauty: Kevin Spacey gives a Oscar winning performance in this movie, which was a great depiction of a common American family. The direction was absolutely perfect, which potrayed life of an ageing man who knows some or the other he is going to die. It is a black comedy, with a sarcastic appeal, which really makes it stand out. I loved a scene where a flying plastic bag was potrayed as the human wants, which keeps him following whether he is soaring up or coming down. Truly great movie.
2) The Matrix: Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne and Tori Ann Mos stars in this visually superb movie. I am a great special effects fan, and I just could not have ignored this movie. This film takes us to the real world, The Matrix, where we can be what we want to be, see what we want to see; rather than being in a world which is just an illusion, and we are slaves. Truly. it has a deep meaning. It has just to say that we can be what we want to be. Just go for it.
1) Gladiator: A round of applause for this great movie. Russell Crowe could not have ask for much better than this, and could have provided much better that what he did. Great acting performances, and equally impressive dialogues makes this movie number one on my list. I hope, many of the readers who have seen this movie will agree with me. This is surely number one.
