This is my top ten list might not be liked by everyone but if I like it, then should I really care. These are not in any order;
KAANTE
Many might not agree with this as this movie is inspired by tarantinos resorvior dogs but this was and still is technically the best movie to come out of bollywood ever. The perfomances were good specially from manjrekar, the language was raw
but who cares as long as it entertains. Watch it for style if nothing else
RANGEELA
When I watched it for the first time I didn’t like it maybe I was too young then, but since then this is one movie that I got completely hooked onto whenever it was on the tv. Ramus first big hit in hindi, story wasnt great but it was the perfomances and music that made this movie set apart from others
AGNEEPATH
WOW! is the only word that can describe big b’s perfomance in this, its actually his perfomance along with mithuns to some extent that transormed a pretty averge movie into one of the best movies of AB ever.
KHAKEE
Again many might not agree, but actually after a long time I came satisfied out of the theatre after watching a movie and it was khakee, everything was absolutely spot on but for some reasons the film actually didnt get its due
MAINE PYAR KIYA
Watched it as a kid and still watch it whenever I get the time, it actually became such a big hit that during my bday I cried for a cap with FRIENDS encrypted on it ( I laugh on that now). Rich boy poor girl, parents objection but man trust me for that time it wasnt a bad movie specially with the newcomers in it. Music and direction was good too
LEGEND OF BHAGAT SINGH
A semi docu drama but it was easily the best movie made on the revolutionary bhagat singh himself. Direction by Rajkumar Santhosi was brilliant and perfomance by Ajay Devgan fetched him an national award need I say more.
MOHABBATEIN
Not for a moment do I think DDLJ was a better movie than this, infact this movie was way better than DDLJ which was also directed by aditya chopra. The story of all the boys was beautifully integrated and the perfomances of main actors was really good
KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI
Karan Johars first and probably finest movie, people might think hes G#Y rather than GUY but man does he know to tell a story beautifully. A love triangle with lovely songs and great perfomances specially the climax which is superb
HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM
Might not be the greatest story but was presented in a wonderful way by director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, of course the movie has its cliches but its salmans antics in the first half and ajays silence in second which steal the show (same formula was tried in MPKDH but failed). Watch it for a riveting perfomance by devgan if nothing else
SHOLAY
Hey everyone knows bout this one. I don’t think I have to say anything bout this possibly the best movie ever made in bolly wood. Still after 30 years people watch the movie
One movie I really wanted to add is ZAKHM which I think is one of the best movies created in india, it has great perfomances from everyone and yes that includes pooja bhatt and nagarjuna too
