I already have given my review on Ten Best Hindi Movies. Now I am confident to give Ten Worst Hindi Movies. I did a bit of research before compilation of this list. Do read in the details of each movie and my reasons of listing them here.
Heres the countdown:
10) Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja
Have you heard about a Diwali, which is suppose to go out with a bang, but ends up with a fiss. Such is a story of this film with a 1 KM long title.
It was the directorial debut of Satish Kaushik, which failed miserably. He did made a great effort with lavish sets and media hype, but the audience were forced to sleep throughout the movie.
It contained the same brother-lost-brother-found story. I wonder whether Salim-Javed really compiled the story of this movie. They are the same guys responsible for Sholay. The actors also tried hard, but in vain.
The movie ultimately succumbed to cold death. A small movie like Aankhen, which released with this movie, became a block buster. So, this is a moral to learn for all movie directors that audience want a good film, not a compilation of some weird ideas.
9) Aatish
This movie represents all the bad movies from a director called Sanjay Gupta. Again a fiery title, but cold in every aspect. Sanjay Gupta made several such movies like this one, Khauff, and I dont remember much. Every movie was excellent in technical department, but was weak in the most important one, Story department.
Now he is making Kaante with loads of actors. He should have now learnt from his past mistakes, and should never repeat it. He is a talented guys, who has just gone wrong. I hope he will spend money on right stuff now.
8) Mrityudata
It was a comeback movie of Amitabh Bachchan after a brief exile from film world. This was a movie from a director who gave great films like Tirangaa and Krantiveer. AB acted in this movie as if he is a newcomer. The director did a bad job and the movie was a Mrityudata for all the audience.
The movie ran for some weeks due to the moolah created by the media that it is a comeback movie of AB. But after seeing this movie, people felt, why did he ever came back!
7) Trimurti
Showman Subhash Ghai dishes out his worst movie ever made. Audience kept wrigging on their seats, yawning loudly and snoring hard. It had a good cast, but the heroines were just for the songs.
All the blame came on Late Mukul Anand, as he was the so-called director of this movie. But Subhash Ghai was the main cause of the failure of this movie, as he kept intervening with the direction.
Compare to other Subhash Ghai Films, the songs were also a pack of crap. In all, a flop movie.
6) Yaadein
Another Super-Duper flop movie from Subhash Ghai. This time all blame to Subhash Ghai only. While watching this movie, I got confused that whether I am watching a movie or a 3-hour long Coke commercial. In Taal, it was to an okay limit. But here, Coke was just everywhere.
There were also cycle advertisements is this flop flick. The songs were melodious, but the actors did lot of over-acting, specially Jackie Shroff.
Subhash Ghai should wake up now and make a good movie like his Karma or Karz. And yes, no more full length Coke commercials please.
5) Refugee
It is a bundle of over-actors. A sure flop film. Leaving the songs, everything was bad about this movie.
Can you imagine a guy crossing the 100 KM Indo-Pak Border everyday, as if he is taking a stroll in the park. Moreover, he takes people with him! One of them is an over-acting Kareena Kapoor. Sorry guys, I dont like her acting. She justs overdo some scenes.
And what more, a caught criminal takes up command of an Indian Army battallion! Oh, just stop this nonsense. I dont know what JP Dutta was up to? The better Border was, the worse Refugee is. He did do justice with his direction and turned the movie in a pack of highly avoidable celluloids. Please do better next time.
4) 1942-A Love Story
A conservative Indian girl goes French kissing with a mode Indian guy in this avoidable flick from Vidhu Vinod Chopra. There was nothing like 1942 in this movie; but the director tried hard. The songs were absolutely superb, but the story wasnt.
I kept rolling over and over again on my seat while watching the movie, and prayed hard so that the movie ends. Anil Kapoor looks good, so does Manisha Koirala. But this does not make a movie hit. It was a fruitless attempt to feature Indias freedom struggle in the background of a love story.
3) Abhay
I watched Hey Ram, and thought Kamal Hasan would improve himself in his next attempt. But Abhay turned out to be a bigger crap than Hey Ram.
The story is about two twin brothers. One is a psycho obsessed with women, and other one is a true police officer. The psycho wants to kill the police officers wife, but the officer wont let him do that. In between, Kamal Hasan romances with both the heroines, as he does in all his movies. With superior overacting performances by everyone, I did not expected such a bad work from Kamal Hasan. Songs are equally bad to the ears.
Please keep yourself away from this one.
2) Mother 2000
This movie was suppose to be released in 98, so it was first called Mother 98. Then it became Mother 99. And at last it released as Mother 2000.
It is a story about a girl who wants to know her true father from three of her mothers past lovers. Confusing, isnt it? Theres lots more in the movie that will make your brain blast.
Rekha with kilos of make-up, and three senior artists, overact lavishly. The songs will make you sleep forever. If you want to commit suicide, watch this movie. You will have the most painful death you can ever imagine.
1) Madam X
Ever heard of this movie? I can watch a Z-grade movie 10 times then watching this movie even once. This Rekha flick has the reputation of running for just 3 days nationwide! It is such a bad movie.
I dont know what Rekha is up to? She is dishing out bad movies one after the other. With loads of make-up and colourful clothes, she is just giving bad days to some of her fans.
Watch Madam X at your own risk.
There were several other movies too, which came close to feature in this list. They are:
International Khiladi
All latest Mithun movies
Hum Ho Gaye Aapke
Mujhe Meri Biwi Se Bachao
Indian
Aunty No.1
Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya
Ram Jaane
and many more...
I only chose those movies, which included credible cast and a big banner. Otherwise, 100 would be a small number to cover all such painful movies.
OK then. Happy reading.
