The Good Doctor is an American medical drama series, based on South Korean TV series of the same title. It has stars like Freddie Highmore, Nicholas Gonzalez, Beau Garrett, Antonia Thomas, etc. The series was released in September, 2017. The debut season is very engrossing with Freddie’s great performance as an autistic surgical resident.
It is said thar American Broadcasting Company ( ABC) has renewed the series for the second season, in March, 2018. Actually, we cannot wait to see the new season which is stated to be premiered in the fall of 2018.
In The Good Doctor, Dr. Shaun Murphy ( played by Freddie) is the lead and he has extraordinary skills though he is autistic. Having a difficult childhood, Shaun is mentored by Dr. Glassman ( played by Richard Schiff) since he was 14, who is also the President of the hospital in the series. Meanwhile, Dr. Brown ( played by Antonia) forms close and friendly bonding with Shaun. Nicholas on the other hand plays Dr. Neil Melendez who is in charge of surgical residents. Nicholas is engaged to Jessica Preston who plays the in-house attorney. They make a delightful couple until episode 12.
I streamed and watched the series online as TV channels in India are yet to air it or never. It is emotional, engaging and at times fun to watch the series. I did recommend to a friend of mine who also got addicted to it until the season got over. Pretty much sure most people will like it if they had liked medical drama series by the likes of ’House’.
