I have been an avid reader of The Hindu, for the past 4 years of my stay in Coimbatore. There was no problem in terms of delivery. I have a habit of reading the news the minute I wake up else my day gets messed up. The times of India was launched in Coimbatore in January 2011. I subscribed for a one year pack as the offer price was very enticing. More over I used to read TOI during my younger days in Goa quite liked the content.
Trouble started in the first month. The delivery was shoddy and irregular. I used to wait outside in the morning to just to meet the delivery man and request him to ensure that the paper reaches the right door and not to drop it in the gutter outside. For a week after that the delivery was consistent but beyond that one week It has been horrible. I called, mailed, pleaded and begged them, finally I gave up and asked them to cancel my subscription and provide a letter to that extent. which was never done till date and the delivery is same as before.
The staff at TOI Coimbatore are not committed enough. They lack a sense of responsibility.
I was better off with The Hindu. I am switching today. TOI should be ashamed.
