Old Wine in Spirtual Bottle

Before I give my View let me admit a fact that Iam a die hard fan of Mastero Illayaraja.

The expectation with which I bough this CD busted as soon as listening to the first song. The reason is very simple   I dont know why Illayaraja is so obessed with his own voice & his daughter bhavadarini . Frankly speaking the entire efforts of whatever has been done to give a image lift to Ancient composition like Thiruvasagam   is lost due to this old approach to the symphony.

The Symphony resembles in bits & pieces the earlier albums like How to Name IT and nothing but wind . The Violin being predominently used as fillers, though the orechestration is done by one of the famous conductor Iam sorry the influence of the pavaler brothers old habits are too visible throughout.

To sum it hats of to Illayaraja for his noble intention of taking Thiruvasagam to Internatioanl hieghts but unfortunately he should have used innovative ideas may be YUVAN Shankar would have given enough tips and should have gone for the newer voices which would have given life to those wonder compositions clubbed with the symphony orchestration.

Like the saying in Tamil ’’ Yannaikum adi serukum’’ The mastero should be careful in future while trying to do newer things not only the thought but also action should refelct fresh & new approach.
