Tulsi is a religious as well medicinal plant.

The tulsi is a holy plant and she is the woman deity of Hindu religion.She is also known as Basil, Vaiswani and Ram tulsi.She had married to lord Vishnu. It is said that she was a woman named Vaishwani drowned in the river.She was saved and brought out from the river by lord Vishnu in the form of tulsi plant and became beloved of the lord. Later on Tulsi married to lord Vishnu in the form of shaligram bhagwan on purnima in the Hindu month of kartik.


Thereafter people of Hindu religion started worshiping her as a woman deity and they believe that she is very auspicious, because she brings peace and happiness in family.It is said that if a person regularly worship, do puja and watering the plant daily, than no doubt he or she will gain the salvation(moksa) She is the ladder between the Earth and Heave.Normally on the door or in the front side of Hindu house we can find the tulsi plant. I also have tulsi plant out side my house near the main door and daily we perform Puja.


At the same time Tulsi is very useful as a medicinal plant. It is very good to cure cough cold, fever, pneumonia, minor skin problems, indigestion and even it is helpful for tuberculosis and in asthmatics problems. If you use it in tea than tea will become tasty and will be good  remedy of cough, flu, headache and fever. It is also called ayurvedic herbal plant, its oil is very useful as a ear drops and body massage can be done which will make your body flexible strong and shiny.Where the tulsi plant is there, nearby area of the plat always remains clean, healthy and pollution free. This plant has the power to kill the harmful bacteria in the surrounding areas. So it is advisable to have tulsi plant in every house which will be very good and useful for them as a religious as well medicinal plant.
