In response to Acoustic Nirvana by ''ryder''

Afternoon everyone.

This is in response to the Artice mentioned in the Title by ’’ryder’’

’’Part of the whole experience is what I like to call ??moving?? sound.’’’’

  1. ’’moving Sound’’....is a sound theory and I dont think it is make it appear as if it is a personal term.

’’’’Make sure you dont clutter up the area with too much furniture, keep it as open as possible to avoid sound from being absorbed. ’’’’

  1. If furniture did infact have a bad reaction to overll sound quality then why have couches or so many seats in a movie hall?? Its not how much furniture you have its what kind....if you are not looking at absorbing any sound at all then effectively you are going to get echoes..which any audiphile will tell you is not good at all. The type of furniture you have can assist you in u getting the right sound.

Paint can be a factor in sound quality...I did not eeven know that till a couple of months back...!!

’’’’’’ If your channel is an 80 watt channel then you want at least an 80 watt speaker. Here you dont necessarily need to go brand name unless you have a very discerning ear for sound quality’’’’

  1. Totally worng. Never fall in for this kind of a line of thinking. If you have that extra money invest it ina good set of speakers. Your speaker quality can either take ur ’’sound’’ upto an altogether different level or make it carsh to a degree wher it sounds like an Out of tune AM channel.

Secondly..please look at the ohms...every speaker has something called impedence whjich needs to be taken into consideration...the results will be quite disastorous if the amp is intended for 8 ohms but your speakers are 6ohms.

I fail to understand how this fact could have been missed out by the writer in the first place.

’’’’Bose has some great speakers but then do you want to spend a fortune?’’’’’’

  1. Bose is often misquoted as being a leader in sound. Its not. Even I was surprised. THe primary problem with Bose is the reatively lesser frequecies it carries. You can get some articles on this thorugh a standrad google search.

’’’’The center speaker is typically optional but if your sound is more high frequency-rich (like conversational) the center will greatly enhance the overall auditory effect’’’’

  1. The centre is really not an ’’option’’. Yes I agree it will enhance overall auditor effect but thats putting it mildly. A centre is where the entire surround sound package converges...it acts like a focal point..otherwise why cant I just use my TV speakers as my centre??

’’’’The sub woofer ideally would be somewhere either behind you or to the side. If you keep the sub facing you, the low frequency sound will overwhelm and cancel out the sound coming out of the other speakers and you definitely dont want that’’’’’’

  1. It does not matter where the Sub is placed owing to the very nature of the sound it is intended for. Bass is something which is very hard to put a finger on in terms of location..and it is a very wholesome sound..if one agrees with the writers logic of drowning out sound if the sub is placedin front wont the same hapen with the surrounds if th subwoofer is placed at the back??...doesn matter where u place it as long as it is not in harms way. A majority of home theatres put them in front along with the mains.

Not like the review was bad, it just was not accurate enough and there were far too many things to comment on to just make it into a single comment.

Nothing Personal at all...

Regards.
