I have tried for years to grow my own nails and have had little success. I have very busy hands.doing crafts, house projects, washing dishes and laundry, gardening and to top it off, I do tend to run low on iron from time to time(upon which I increase my intake). I do not do well with iron supplements, because I get a rash from it. Anyway, after so many years or trying to steer clear of fake nails.I finally gave in and I do not want to do without them now.
If you get the nails done professionally, they will last for 2 weeks and the polish will not come off the entire time.THAT IS MY FAVORITE PART! The professional will prepare your nails and cuticles, before applying the product; will properly shape the nail and then will apply your choice of polishes. Acrylic nails are originally applied on a thin plastic nail, which is glued in place and then an acrylic powder forms the hard top surface. Eventually the plastic nail is gone, since after routine visits to the salon, your nails will be trimmed to a practical length. I do not like mine too long, because, as I have mentioned before, I have very busy hands and I like being well groomed.not too flashy! The very first time I had my nails done, I had such a hard time.I couldn’t even zip up my own jeans. Dialing a telephone and typing became more difficult tasks, too. I did get used to them and have learned what length suits me. Typically, the acrylic nails will cost about$35 USD for the initial application and then the 2 week’fills’ will run about$15 USD. This cost will vary, depending on the salon and I have learned that the more expensive nail salons are ONLY more expensive and not better.
Another option is the Gel nail, which with them, everything is completely the same as the acrylic nails, except that the gel is a little harder and therefore, results in a thinner finished product. They will last the same length of time as the acrylic nails, however they will cost a little more. The initial application of the gel nail will cost about$45 USD and the 2 week’fills’ will run about$20 USD.
I am not a materialistic or flamboyant woman, but I am a busy woman. I like to be well groomed and tidy in my appearance. That is why I have really come to appreciate what artificial nails do for me.
