I purchased this from Harsha Toyota Chennai and my experience was bad from the word go. As the other dealer did not have my colour choice I was forced to go for the dealer. I was unhappy with the tyres and the fuel consumption from day 1. Any how I went for the 1000KM service and nothing happened. I changed to Lanson Toyota in Pallikarani near Velachery, and went with my problems. Their technician drove in a highway like condition and proved that it was giving 20.5 km where as I was getting only 13.5 in Chennai roads! They advised me to change the petrol pump, and the milage has improved to 15. I got 21 km only on my trip to kalahasthi in Andra near Tirupathi However I find the idle speed or fuel flow surprising.
Without any acceleration, it moves upto 5th gear and goes at a speed of 35-40 km without any problem. When I complained, as person from Toyota Bangaore calls me up and informs me that it is the way diesel cars are made! I am surprised and not convinced. Should not the fuel pump have some kind of adjustment. I feel my choice was wrong and I have blown up 7 lacs in the bargain, which is very unaffordable for me.
