Well, as a call-center female employee and if you are out of office for a certain reason then you will certainly going to face a lot of troubles at night if you are not enough lucky . I have faced problems liike this before . Few years ago I, my colleague got teased one night . Again oneday that time I was in maruti, some roadhogs tried to pursue me and throwed a cig also .
In Delhi other motorists only respect and give way to a huge car on road, this is more so with a woman that too at night . Also I worked for a call center and mostly had to work at night, A tough looking car is an advantage over a puny maruti zen against hooligans at night .for me IT WAS ANY CAR WILL DO AS LONG AS ITS BIG AND MEAN LOOKING .
So my choices were simple . buy a tata-sumo type car or u can say a SUV.This time I also wished to have a foreign company car as we had only a old maruti zen that also belongs to my husband but I drove it most of the time .
So everyone knew that I am going to buy a new car but I never told anyone which car I am going to buy .
Some suggested honda city, some toyota innova like that actually I didnt discussed with many that security was my primary concern .
So on december 2006 I bought a Toyota Land cruiser prado .And after almost 6 months I am very happy with its performance
Thinking why I bought this car? here are the reasons >
1.This is a big car and I aleady told about the other motorists in new delhi . Basically women in this country mainly drive small cars like wagonR, indigo but other roaders car never imagine that a lady is driving this car .and this is I wanted .
- This car is one of the top SUVs beating tata-safari, mitsubishi montero( this was my 2nd choice) or hundai Tuscon( bad car) .
3.If you look its interior, it can ever beat a crysler tooo .
- If I bought a BMW/toyota camry that will attract more hooliganism .This car is safe from that aspect .
there are other r reasons too.
So after 6 months of driving this was my experience
This is truly a world class SUV has a great off-road ability and technology iinside thw cabin is GREAT, luxurious interiors and a very powerful and refined petrol engine . I saw performance-wise 0-60KPH took about 5-6 seconds and its highest speed is 186( I think its the 2nd highest after camry). I think in Indian roads highest speed is totally useless.so this was just for your information . I never drove beyond 80 even in the highways at NCR region .Milage is somewhat less than I expected . Where my friends Innova delivers 8 km in city mine is stuck only at >6 . But I think that is because of Automatic transmissions( although most people like manual I just love Automatic).
You have sit adjust option, tinted glass( it was important for me atleast), climate control( its at its best) and I got a six cd BOSE player.But most impressive is the power of the engine .Its 235 BHP where my friend’s Innova is only above 100.
Before watching Noone believe that I drive this car . When I took it to my home first time .my hubby just got a shock!
What else.?. I think I will drive this car for another 5 years .will shift to next gen car then .
