Tried the Uber cab first time last week. Booked it using their app. Linked it to my Paytm account which is safer than linking the credit card which I think is risky as you allow them to bill you without any further approval.
The first ride was free upto Rs.400 and thought of giving it a try on my way back from office. The app showed the actual location of the cab and approx.
Time it will come to me. It came in time, the ride was ok, and the driver wasn’t aware of the route(to my surprise), when the route is clearly shown on the map! May be he was trying to take a long route?!
I realized alter that he actually knew the route looking at him taking the alternate routes avoiding potholes etc. It was swift Dzire and well maintained. The driver used his mobile phone while driving which wasn’t very good.
At the end of journey, I just got down and walked off the cab without paying any money:-) Pretty simple concept and no haggling with drivers. Receipt comes on mail and you are charged automatically. Only make sure the driver takes the correct route and not the long one. Availability of the Cab in Navi Mumbai is an issue I think
