Been using UCO bank since 5 years now. I am from the state of AP and I have seen very few branches or ATM in the state of Telangana and AP. It is really hard to locate an ATM to withdraw money. Even if you had finally located one the ATM would dispense either 5, 000 rs or would tell you that the ATM has no money to dispense. The bank will least bother to refil money in their ATMS.
I really dont know how some of our friends have considered UCO to a private sector bank in terms of services. The ATM will not dispense money and the maintenance of the ATMs are the worst to the best of its possibility. Most of the time you either see dogs or the cabins full of Lizards. It would be a real adventure to get money from the ATMS.
*Coming to my own personal experince** I have observed a dispute in the ATM transaction for an amount of 10, 000 rs. Which I am sure that I have not done and raised a complaint on the uco bank website with all the scanned copies of the passbook and got the complaint number as P0223010108020714012.
This was done in the month of June 2014. Till today the bank had not resolved the issue and the peak of it is the website is not working properly to check the status of the complaint. The customer service of this bank is honestly bad and cannot be compared with any other banks. I dont know what exactly the escalation matrix does this bank follow.
After repeated follow ups regarding the complaint a Zonal officer called me to ask what the issue is. I told him I have given in writing on your website attaching the scanned copy of the passbook he said he was not aware of the issue and told me that he would understand and resolve the issue but there is no response after that.
I am not sure if RBI has any escalation matrix or a system for banking ombudsman to resolve issues like this. After this incident I am very much scared to deposit money in UCO bank and trying to maintain as min balance as possible. My sincere advise is to avoid this bank and seek services from any other banks which has a better process and an established customer care process in place.
