We went to Umerkot in Koramangala, a week back and it was a horrible experience. They don’t have a buffet lunch but they serve at the table a fixed menu. The service was one of the worst. Between every serving, we had to wait for half hour and the whole lunch took more than 2 hours.
Initially we ordered a mango lassi which didn’t have mango at all. When we complained, he took it back, mixed with maaza or slice and brought it by making it even worse. The prices were attrocious. A fixed menu lunch costs 350Rs and comes with worst possible menu.
The starters that comes with "fixed meal veg" are awful. One of them is panner which no one can eat more. Other starter is tofu which no one likes. And the other was aloo tikki which was somewhat average. The rotis were cold and were almost like papad.
I think he took the rotis from someone else’s table and put it on ours. He did not even serve the dahi papdi chat which was also mentioned in the "fixed meal" menu. In the end the jamun served with icecream was so rubbery that we could not cut with the spoons. A small cup ( may be 30gms ) of carrot halwa costs 85 Rs. A mineral water bottle costs 60Rs!!
At these prices one can go to "Royal Orchid" which is a true 3 star hotel and the buffet lunch comes with 3-4 varieties of deserts and various starters.I would suggest everyone to give it a miss.
