Poorest Network

I hve been a Post-paid Hutch subscriber for almost 2 years now.  I was a happy Reliance subscriber before that.

Why I shifted even then? It was when all operators announced lower rates for on-network calls i.e. better rates for Hutch 2 Hutch(then Orange). All my friends were on Hutch network. So to cut down my monthly bill by half, I had no option but to go for Hutch.

I am very happy about the tariff plan. I speak for like infinite minutes but still may very minimal. But the problem comes when you speak in trains.read local trains. When everyone in Mumbai, spends atleast 2 hours a day travelling, the probability your call receivers being in train when you call them is very HIGH.

I experience atleast 25% of call drops of the total calls that I make. Voice cracking, etc. are other problems you face. SO in the most critical aspect HUTCH fails **miserably.

*However, as far as customer service goes, its really good. The wait time is reasonable. The people are polite. They are innovative in promotional schemes and billing mechanisms(pay through your credit card on phone, etc.)

I am neutral to HUTCH. The decision point is if you talk too much and most of your friends are on HUTCH, one can still consider it positively. Otherwise I don’t think they have got a differentiation. Its THE NETWORK EFFECT that gives them the edge.

P.S. Network effect is  - the value of a service increases manifold with number of users adopting it!
