I bought a Whirlpool 1.5 Ton Chrome series (6th sense) split AC in 2012. I wanted an AC to be below 3 Star and that time LG and Samsung were on higher side in terms of costing. So bought Whirlpool which was costing me below Rs. 30, 000/-.
Ever since I bought the AC during 1st year it was running satisfactory. I used it for about 2 months in summer and 2 months during rainy season. Then AC was idle. Next year when I started using the AC, I found that cooling was not so effective and Ice flakes and water was coming out from AC vents. I asked the customer care guy to visit us. After checking he told that the room temperature is very low and not to use AC below 22 degree. He told me to use AC preferably at 24 degree, but upon asking that AC is supposed to keep room cool irrespective of temperature, he did not have any explanation for that. He checked gas and told it needs to be refilled (top-up). On asking within a period of 6-9 months how come gas is leaked. He told perhaps installation guy has not fitted properly and for refilling I need to pay approx Rs. 2, 400/- irrespective of amount of gas filled. I asked him that if this is mis-installation of AC technician, why should I pay the amount and it should be done free, but he refused to listen and said I need to pay.
Ever since, even I use AC, but dont get the feeling that I am staying in a AC room, rather room is bit lower temperature than outside and is humid free. It doesnt feel that I am enjoying the comfort of AC.
I had a very bad experience with Whirlpool, and would never buy it again. Also would request others who are considering Whirlpool to research and then decide to buy any Whirlpool product.
