Pretty good washing machine

I did a lot of research before buying Whirlpool H65 in Dec 2008. As this machine had negative feedbacks, I was a bit skeptical to buy. I’ve used it for last 5 months and all I can say it is too good.


I didn’t face the vibration issue as mentioned by a fellow user. We know that collar mostly required to be hand brushed, how good is the washing machine, but this machine is too good. I rarely required hand brush cleaning the collars and that too only few mild scrubs were needed.


I live in area(at bangalore) where Power cuts can happen. This machine is too good with it. H65 will resume from where it had left before the power cuts. One of the killing feature on this machine, if you face power problem.


Every wash program would have agrition soak, which can’t be avoided in any wash programs(there are 9). This has positives and negatives. It increases the wash time, but one would get lot better wash as hardness of water it minimized(my society has only borewell water). Washing with hard water requires more power and hard particle can set to the clothes almsot impossible to remove(I’ve been a science student). I feel it is a fair to go extra time for better wash and cloths.


It takes around 1.25 units of electricity per hour and the LED displays the time required for wash. One can easily calculate cost in terms of electricity.


Lot happy with whirlpool. After me there were two person who bought the same w/m. Bot hare very happy.

There are rate differences for same w/m in different color and you can always negotiate the rate with vendor.


Extremely bad Customer Service:

(on 31st Jan) I called customercare number for a Washing machine complaint and the phone got cut at the time of Complaint number generation. so called up immediately once again, got a new complaint number and asked the engineer to come post 7 PM, when I’m at home. On 1st, I receive a call at 3 PM for feedback, stating that as per their record my complaint was solved at 4 PM on 31st itself. My lord! just one hour within loding the complaint, the engineer came and fixed the issue. What a cruel joke. I’ve not heard from any engineer/customer care executive about my complaint till the time of writing(2nd Feb). This is the same mahcine I wrote a positive review. H650 is the upgrade model of this machine.

After repeated calles to Customer Care and specific request not to come w/o prior appointment, an engineer came to visit on Sunday(today) w/o appointment. After inspection, he told that the PCB has gone faulty and drum suspension spring too. Both needed to be replaced having a cost of Rs 4600/-. Considering that I used machine only once or twice  a week in last 30 months, PCB and spring going wary was a rude shock. I would recommend people taking the maintenance contract too, post warrenty period, as the cost of each visit itself is Rs 285.
