Hi all??.. It?s me again on a new subject?..!!!!!! ?WOODLAND? ? It could be even said that they were the ones who had probably revolutionized the Footwear market. In earlier days, men only shopped the same old traditional monotonous black-colour shoes, which were priced from very cheap to pricey ones. Only rich men possessed those glittery (very shiny like the ones shown in shoe-polish Ads) black shoes which they wore with their official / ceremonial Pants & shirts as well as with their other informal wears, while the middle-class office-goers went in for a cheaper pair of shoes and the same culture continued for years.

Though they are a bit expensive they are certainly worth from the point of reliability and longevity. There are many Woodland Showrooms across the country and Woodland habitually exhibits Used-Shoes Mela, which is a boon for the Shoe-lovers.
Among its other merchandise, I would swear that Woodland?s Shoes & Women?s Sandals are really excellent. Men?s shoes are available in extensive range of colours, in just the basic brown itself, you could find almost 10 different browns and the same way with other attractive colours too.

PRICE
Woodland Shoes range anything between INR 750 to INR 3, 000/-. Very beautifully designed fashionable Shoes are available for around INR 1750 and you could purchase them from their Used-Shoes Melas at very very discounted price. Women?s Sandals are not as plenty as the Men?s shoes and women?s footwears range from INR 500 to a very high range. If you are ready to spend (may be during occasions like weddings etc.) around INR 2, 000/- you could be sure to acquire stone & pearl worked sandals best suited to your occasion. But kids? shoes are available in different colours like red, velvety-brown, white, blue etc. but are priced high.
LONGEVITY
?Woodland shoes are really meant for longevity, the fact being that, my brother?s shoes purchased in 1999 are still in the same condition despite his continuous outings for playing cricket, sports etc. In fact he is complaining that he is fed up with these old (?) Shoes and needs a replacement. The shoes are if truth be told are classically manufactured for the toughest meanders, though the bottom-layer of the shoes are noticeably thinner.
?I bought a very attractive pair of white-colour Sandals with brown substructure in the year 2001 at an INR 990/-. I purchased it in a Mela at Chennai, so its actual price was INR 1350/-. It has a few nice glittery stone-works in it and I still proudly possess it. Since I have quite a collection of footwear, I don?t wear it so often and may be due to that fact, it is still very good-looking and in the same condition. Only from the underneath, you could make out that the sandals are old.
So, Woodland is certainly not for people who desire to keep on be changing their footwear frequently having been fed up with the same design.
RELIABILITY
From the long-lastingness of Woodland Shoes, it is pretty trustworthy, but added to the charm of its longevity, the Showrooms also offer warranty for the footwear ranging from 6 months to almost 1 ½ years. If you feel that your selection had been wide of the mark, you could take your footwear to the showroom and have it replaced within 24 hours from the time of purchase. Then during the warranty period, any damage to your footwear would be serviced free of cost at the showroom. It is also essential that you need to retain your Invoice under safe-custody.
As far as I have known about Woodland, their tough kind of shoes are fairly maintenance-free, but the athletic and leather shoes do start getting dented within about a year. It may be a problem with the dealer from whom the shoe is purchased. Woodland Shoes come with the date & other details of manufacture printed on the Box and after you had chosen your desired design of shoes, do ask the sales person to provide you with a recently manufactured shoe. But any manufacturing defects / complaints could always be taken up with Woodland Manufacturing Company for better service.
