Woodland down the drain

I am an exfan of woodland shoes. I always was of the opinion that these shoes rivaled any shoes made abroad. But man, not so any longer. I bought a expensive hiking shoe from the bandra shop for about Rs.2600 appreciating its sturdy looks and rugged appeal. The comfort of woodland shoes is legendary. Not anymore. I had to come back the very next day. Guess where did I get a shoe bite? on the arch of the foot! can you beat that? This points to a faulty design. There are these leather or metal wires that go through the shoe to help it hold its form. And the only thing that TRIES to be a barrier to the feet is a layer of thin foam and cloth. I started limping in 15mins. Returned to the shop. Got another design.

Now bliss? wrong again. This one gave away after a month and a half. The lace rivets gave away. Just popped out. And all this after the fact that it does not even tighten properly. You can just put yr feet in and out without removing the laces.(all this in a hiking/treking shoe, where the shoes need to hold firmly). Now they are again back at the shop. sitting pretty since last week with no date of return promised. I was prompted to ask him if woodland as a company was closing down. No wonder we dont see much of woodland nowadays.

I am disgusted to say the least. My advice, , pls dont bother with these high prized faliures. Not worth the trouble. Also my shoes were bought at full price, not on a sale.
