The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is a smartphone developed by Xiaomi Inc. It is a part of the Xiaomis low-end Redmi smartphone line. TheMediaTek variant ( codename hennessey) was released on November 24, 2015.[3]
The Snapdragon variant ( codename kenzo) was launched on March 3, 2016.[4] The launch event was held at Delhis Talkatora Indoor Stadium, Hugo Barra, the vice president of Xiaomi gave the speech.[citation needed] Redmi Note 3 is the third Made in India Mi phone[citation needed], the previous ones areRedmi 2 Prime and Redmi Note Prime.[citation needed] Xiaomi introduced its successor, Redmi Note 4, in China on August 24.[5]
It runs on an Android based MIUI 7 OS which is upgradable to MIUI 8.[6]
