I bought my Redmi Note 3(16GB) about 2 months back. This is an amazing device offering a lot of features in this price range. Personally I was very happy buying this phone.
Pros:
The main reason why I bought this phone is my previous phone(MMX AQ5001) didnt have a gyroscope sensor which is necessary to use a VR Headset.
Very good VR experience.
It has a fingerprint scanner which doesnt take more than half a second to unlock.
It has a good 5.5 display highly capable of showing good bright and contrast output.
It has an amazing primary camera 16MP which shoots awesome very high quality landscapes and portraits as well.
Its front camera 5MP also shoots good quality pictures and has a feature to beautify face which is not too much but moderate so photos look more real.
Most important and best feature is the battery life of this phone. It has a 4050mAh battery which, for sure, will last one and half a day on moderate use.
I use my phone with WiFi hotspot on almost 3-4 hours a day, also use whatsapp, facebook and few games, and it will, without any doubt, last from morning to the midnight.
MIUI has built in App Lock.
MIUI has built in Files Hiding option.
MIUI recent update includes Second Space, and App Cloning without any third party app. This increases privacy level when handing someone else your phone, and cloning allows to run 2 whatsapp or facebook accounts.
Cons:
- MIUI has a very good colorful UI. But when youre coming from a different average android phone youll find it very odd that all apps are on the home screen widgets and theres no such thing as AppDrawer in MIUI.
Not a big set back. I solved this by installing Google Now Launcher which is Googles official launcher which will make this phones UI like any other stock android phone.
Since the high definition camera the photos are very big in size(~5MB) and this will result in filling up memory soon if youre using a 16GB variant.
The phone is a Dual sim(1 Micro+ 1 Nano). The SIM 2 slot is a hybrid in which you can either insert a memory card or a nano sim card.
Using both is possible by peeling off the golden chip from the sim card and pasting it on the memory card, however this involves risking you SIM(it may not work if not done properly). I personally havent tried this so Im not assuring anything.
Conclusion:
Overall this is very good phone, the best phone in this price range. I totally recommend this phone.
