I used the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 for over 2 years and here’s my honest opinion. When it launched, it was a game-changer in the budget segment, but with time, its limitations became more visible.
-
?? Sound Reception:
Sound quality is decent for calls and basic music listening. However, the loudspeaker isn’t very powerful and gets distorted at high volumes.
?? User Friendly:
MIUI is easy to use and offers a clean interface, but it often comes with bloatware and occasional lags, especially after updates.
?? Style & Design:
Metal body gives a premium look. Slim and feels good in hand. Fingerprint sensor at the back was a bonus at that time and worked well.
?? Other Features:
Fingerprint unlock works fast
Dual SIM with microSD support
IR Blaster is useful
But… it lacks USB Type-C, fast charging is slow by today’s standards.
-
? Pros:
Great value when it launched
Decent battery backup
Premium metal body
Good display brightness
? Cons:
Lags in performance over time
Not good for heavy gaming
Camera is average, especially in low light
No software updates anymore

?? Final Verdict:
If you’re still using it in 2025, its time to upgrade. It was one of the best in its time, but now it struggles to keep up. Still, for the price back then, it was worth it.
