Still an Excellent Bike

I have driven my Yamaha Enticer for more than 600kms in the past 20 or 25 days since I bought it. I have installed a remote lock for my bike now after losing both my mirrors to a thief.(see my review `remote lock for your bike’ for more on this). I should say one thing about this bike; it is sure a head turner. It also has a lot of chrome on it right from the headlight to the tail. Out of ten people eight would definitely take a look at this bike. Yamaha has done a great job as far as looks are concerned. It is definitely a replica of Harley; I mean only the body of the bike but not the engine and other aspects. The handle bar of this bike is unique and also adjustable which gives this bike the Harley looks. The only grudge I have against Yamaha is the engine of this bike. I would have been happy if it was a 150cc instead of 125cc. Now it has a windshield, which gives it an aesthetic look and after installing the remote lock there is no need to go for the ignition key as the bike can be started with the remote and you only need to side lock the bike.

Now about the mileage, it has been hovering around 45 to 50kmpl and the pickup is really good for the size of this bike. I should say after riding for around 75kms at a stretch I didn’t feel tired but little weary. Being still a new bike I maintained a speed of around 45 to 55km and once raised the speed to around 70km for a short distance and the handling was pretty good. With disc brakes and zapper tyres, the braking is very effective and the bike never skidded even for a moment even if the brakes were applied while you are doing 65kms/ph. The engine heated up a lot after this long ride (you could have baked a butter naan on the engine at this particular time). The Yamaha service people say that this is normal for a new bike. Hope it is so

It has a MRF Zapper rear tyre and it is very effective while braking at high speeds. I bet you would never skid on this bike even if you drive on those pumpkins, which are thrown on the roads by those mindless idiotic people on those auspicious days (not for us if you happen to fall.)You might feel the bike is little sluggish due to its wide rear tyre but you can bet that you are safe on this bike and you would never skid unless of course you fall asleep. Full points to Yamaha for providing these tyres.

Now about the suspension. I cannot compare it with Hero Honda or a Fiero but still you might need little adjustments on this for a smooth ride. The seats are really wide and if you are a tall guy you would really like this seat and if you are a pillion rider you have a lot of space unlike other bikes and you can really enjoy your ride in the pillion and that too with a rear back rest provided. If you ride this bike in water logged street you are sure to get wet half way up your pants (I wonder what would happen if it is an eliminator which is much more lower than this bike). The sound of this bike is just like other 4 stroke bikes, nothing much on this

I should say this bike is ok for longer ride as you can stretch your legs in the brake pedal and the gearshift pedal that is provided. I also changed the horn as earlier the horn provided by the Yamaha sounded like a cycle bell and I also changed the headlight bulb to a halogen bulb. But still I miss the fuel indicator and I am in the process of adding this myself with the help of a mechanic.

Well to conclude, this bike is good if you use it within its limitations and not to overindulge and once again I should add you would get noticed on this bike.

Cheers!!!!!!    Be Happy!!!!!!
