Ok, After being a member for a long time first review. Feels Great was just waiting for a right time.
I was using my Calliber 115(hoodi baba) for more than 5 years and was thinking of going for pulsar 220 and was in a dilama as I already used a bajaj product. Then came FZ15, even though it originated from a sports bike was waiting for pros and cons from various blogs as we are in india and it has to be suitable even if its a sports bike itself on our roads. After many feedbacks finally opted for it. It has been 5 months and the bike is really awesome. I have driven many bikes and its one of the best bike and I am really happy for having the bike.
Ok to say about the bike, overall I will say its a bit costlier than its supposed to be. When compared with other 150 CC bikes the price is too High.
But there are some advantages than other 150 CC like Tubeless tires which will help you a lot if you are having a flat tire and have only air pumps and not a shop to fix it. The Pickup of the Bike is good. You can challenge many bikes on the road just that you need to know how to drive with it. The company says that the bike has a top speed of 132 but I have driven the bike upto 121 and you still have the grip on the road due to the broad tires. One of the best tires out in the market.
Talking about the Pickup, Milage is pretty bad for the bike you can hardle get beyond 35 in city if you cross 50-60 limit. Even on high ways if you maintain speed the milage part is 45 that too its pretty hard and it depends on various aspects. But Yamaha have always produced great pickup bikes but not milage bikes.
The Tank looks sexy but the capacity of the tank is 12 liters. Wow my old Calliber was more than that and its looking like a gaint from outside. But those are just Fiber Scoops and the real tank is small inside them. Many dont like the head light as there is something missing on this gaint, just like a ball head on a sexy women:-) But the light is pretty good and you can drive them even on roads with no lights easily. the light is direclty connected to battery and even if you are going on a bumpy road at slow speed without road lights its no pain at all.
Seat is pretty small and this bike is definately not for the old people. If you happen to have any old ladies wearing saree and have to sit on one side its a big pain for them becoz there is no place where they can keep their leg properly and the seat will not be sufficient. The seat is mainly for 2 teenagers or some one till 30. If you happen to have your father or any person who are old and have them sit at the back seat its again a pain for them, the foot rest is set at good height which makes people to feel odd. Yamaha had no other choice as the Tire itself is short.
Due to the short Height of the Bike If you happen to ride the bike on a high speed breaker with same speed as on other bikes the below part of your bike will go for a hit. If you are a heavy person or a heavy person is stiing behind you again this will happen. But the tires are really good and no matter what speed you go on you can apply break with ease. Even in rain the bike will skit only if you apply break without knowing on how to apply.
Many have reported about the fuel guage but in my bike not even once I had any issues with it.
Just that if this bike had been about 225 CC as in Pulsar 220 or Karizma and given this milage I would have been happier:-). The Silencer in the bike is again a good plus for the bike and is one of its kind. It looks cool and is short even though its fat. I even drove Karizma many times and the pickup was better as it was 220 CC but could easily chase it up with this just a good driver is needed. You can even opt for Pulsar 220 but as I used bajaj and it will long last for a max of 2 years and after that all the parts will shake and will fall off. Dont go for Fazer as its overly priced just changing the Front Doom / fairing of it and adding the price of 8000 - 9000 extra is too bad. for that cost you can add some other enhancement to your bike.
Over all the bike is really a good one. I just dont say since I have it. But the pleasure of riding it is great. I am tall and I am 6.2 so I used to get backpains easily but in this its not the case. even in Pulsar 220 I was getting back pains but not in this. I bought this Bike for 73500 from Parvas Yamaha Chennai
Hope this helps a bit and since this is my first review please correct my mistakes:-) and Dont forget to rate the review
