After shifting to a new house, I had to leave my ACT broadband, since the new location did not have ACT service. Well, tried Hathway for 3 months, could not deal with the frequent speed fluctuations, so tried the last option, You broadband.
I opted for their highest plan 100Mbps 200GB per month. Even during the time of demo I could only get 50Mbps. I did complain once, for did not pursue it too much, as anything more than 20 Mbps is good enough for my usage.
Now, about disconnections - they get disconnections atleast 2 times a month. This month(Apr 2016, it has been 3 times). And once that happens, good luck with the resolution. The call center will tell you that their technician will call you in 4-8 hrs to resolve the issue - but that has not happened a single time in last 1 yr of usage. NOT A SINGLE TIME. You keep calling and they will fix when even they want, which is usually in 2-3 days. Or sometimes they just close the issue with out fixing it. Then you call again, to which they tell you the exact same thing - the technician will call you in 4-8 hrs.
Thus, you might want to escalate it and talk to their superior. And depending on their mood, they either dont have such facility or that the senior is busy or that the escalation department is busy. If you are insistent on knowing if they would provide any reparation for the those time you didnt have internet - the swift answer is, those days would be added to the plan expiration. Meaning if your plan ended on 1st and you had 2 days of outage, now the new plan end date would be 3rd of the month. But, in last 1 yr in which I had atleast 2 outages every month spanning atleast 24 hours - not a single was ever added to my expiration day.
And if you missed renewing your account by a single hour - they will disable your internet. And they will keep calling for the account renewal 10 days before the expiry date for atleast 3 times a day. Hathaway was better in this regard, they wont cut your connection even 7 days of none payment. Also, they did not have as many disconnections as these guys.
Anyways, currently dealing with another outage for last 4 days, called them on 19th Apr for the issue they created a ticket - 2016041930668. Which they closed automatically then next day without calling or confirming if the internet is back. Had to create another ticket the next day - 2016042029598. Now, this guy was interesting, gave me personal guarantee that it will be fixed by next day and that their "technician" would call me. Now, its 21st night - still no internet. Called them again - the same story the "technician" would call and fix tomorrow. Tired of them now, dont know how I stuck with them for so long - procrastination. Anyways, have to search for another house now.
