Y for Yuva, Y for Yahoo

YUVA comes right after critically acclaimed meenaxi which didn’t sell as well it should. Personally I think meenaxi wasn’t all that great except 2-3 songs.

well I won’t goto into ARR-mani ratnams past works as mani was the first one to give ARR a chance to compose and the rest as they say is history. So does yuva which was going to be a songless movie have good songs, prepared to be suprised because YUVA is unlike any previous work of rahman.

To enjoy yuva you need to get couple of things right

1) you should have a good music system

2) and you shouldnt care bout singing along with the song as its too ...........

----------------------------------------------------------------

YUVA

PRODUCED BY MADRAS TALKIES

DIRECTED BY MANI RATNAM

LYRICS BY MEHBOOB

MUSIC BY A R RAHMAN

----------------------------------------------------------------

TRACK 1

DHAKKA LAGA BUKKA

AR Rahman, Mehboob, Karthik

On first hearing you wont understand a damn word about the song but that

dosent matter as the song totally rocks from start to finish. It is also the theme

of the movie. The threesome sing the song with an aura of mystery around it,

also there is a lot of sound effects used in the song, so if you like it you will

love it completely or hate it completely

9.5/10

TRACK 2

KHUDA HAFIZ

Sunitha Sarathy, Lucky Ali, Karthik

Currently the song thats being aired on air now featuring vivek and kareena.

this song really is a mixture of slow and fast tempo as when sunita sings the

tempo of the song slows to give a seductive feel, but when lucky ali sings the

song really it transforms into something else. Lyrically it might not be great but

its rahmans music that makes this song stand out in a great album

8.5/10

TRACK 3

KABHI NEEM NEEM

Madhushree, AR Rahman

A typical rahman melody whic has typical south indian music although the

lyrics have no south indian touch. This song has the softest music in the album,

infact the lack of music is made up of the good lyrics which are sung quiet

beautifully. If you like soft melodies this ones for you if not you still enjoy it

after a couple of hearings

7.5/10

TRACK 4

DOL DOL

Rap and lyrics by BLAZE, Ethnic vocals by Shahin Badar

ITS semi instrumental but fully addictive, not much words sung here but one

thing is sure it will rock the night clubs in the coming months. This songs takes

you into the world of trance which might not be everyones taste. Though the

track lacks variation but that dosent matter as it is still highly enjoyable

8/10

TRACK 5

BAADAL

Adnam Sami, Alka Yagnik

Rahman uses probably all he knows about synthesizers in this track, although

this track has great lyrics it is completely overshadowed by ARR music. This song

would have been a great melody had rahman limited the use of synthesizers

but because he uses it, and uses it well it turns out to be one of the finest

melodical seductive song despite having rocking music, although it might take

a couple of hearings to grow on you

8/10

TRACK 6

FANAA

AR Rahman, Sunitha Sarathy, Tanvi

A complete disco track, this hooks you immediately right from the first time

you hear it. The music here is just superb and so is rahman singing whenever

he says FANAA its pure magic, this is sure for the top position in the coming

weeks. One great thing about this track is that its the only track in the album

where you will sing along, its a sure fire winner .the best song in the album

10/10

OVERALL THIS IS ONE ALBUM THAT ONCE YOU GET HOOKED INTO YOU

WONT STOP LITSENING>ALTHOUGH IT MIGHT NOT BE TYPICAL RAHMAN

<IT OF<BR ONE SURELY IS IT , BUT TASTE EVERYONES OF BE NOT MIGHT>RAHMANS BEST WORK TO DATE

OVERALL SCORE 9/10
